Position Description and How to Apply
Organist Position – Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (Alexandria, VA)
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking an organist to accompany the parish's traditional choir for the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Mass and Thursday evening rehearsals at 7:45 p.m. The ideal candidate would also be available to play the parish's 5:00 p.m. Sunday Mass with a cantor on a regular basis. Interested candidates who are only available for the Sunday, 11:00 a.m. and Thursday, 7:45 p.m. rehearsal, should still apply.
Our repertoire is taken from all periods and styles, including Gregorian Chant, Renaissance Polyphony and Classic and Romantic Choral Music, as well as Contemporary Catholic hymns.
Additional paid opportunities are regularly available throughout the year, including weddings, funerals, holy days of obligation, Christmas and Holy Week liturgies, and other special celebrations.
