Experienced Organist / Accompanist
St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Woodbridge, Virginia is seeking an experienced Organist / Accompanist to support and enrich the congregation’s liturgical worship life.
New Allen GX-340 organ purchased in 2023. New Yamaha Grand Piano GC2 5’8” purchased recently as well.
Position Overview • One Sunday worship service • Accompaniment for one choir with weekly rehearsals (program year) • Wednesday evening prayer services during Advent and Lent • Occasional special and festival services, including Holy Week, weddings, funerals, and other observances, e.g. Thanksgiving Eve. Qualifications • Experience serving as an organist and accompanist in a church setting • Familiarity with liturgical worship and hymnody • Ability to collaborate with pastor, music director and choir • Strong keyboard and accompanying skills
